Ascendra™ Institute & Placement Services
Last updated: 19 June 2026
Ascendra™ Institute & Placement Services ("Ascendra", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) ("DPDP Act"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly. When you submit our enquiry form, we collect your full name, phone number, email address, college or company name, your role (student, professional, college representative, etc.), the service you are interested in, and any message you choose to add. We also record the date, time, and traffic source (e.g. campaign or referral) of your submission.
Report download registration. To access our publicly available research publications (such as the Tamil Nadu Graduate Employment Analysis — Public Edition), we ask you to complete a short registration form. This collects your full name, email address, organisation or college name, and your role (Student / Faculty / HR–Employer / Policymaker / Media / Other). This information is used solely to understand the readership of our research and to send you a direct download link. Submission of this form is voluntary — you are not required to register to access Ascendra's general services.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use our site. Specifically:
- Google Analytics (GA4) — collects anonymised usage data such as pages visited, time on site, device/browser type, and approximate location (IP-based, with IP anonymisation enabled).
- Microsoft Clarity — records anonymised session behaviour (clicks, scrolls, page navigation) to help us improve usability. Clarity is only loaded after you accept analytics cookies via our cookie banner.
- Local storage — we store a single preference value (your cookie consent choice) in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again on every visit.
2. Cookie Consent and Your Choices
On your first visit, a banner lets you Accept or Decline non-essential cookies (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity). If you decline, these tools remain inactive — only strictly necessary functionality is used. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site and reloading the page, or by contacting us using the details in Section 11.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your enquiry and provide programme guidance suited to your goals;
- Keep you informed about services, schedules, or opportunities relevant to your interests, including government scheme connects (e.g. NAPS, NATS) where applicable;
- Deliver the requested research report download link and track report readership for internal research and publication planning purposes;
- Operate, maintain, and improve our website and services;
- Understand aggregate website usage trends through analytics.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your data for unrelated advertising purposes.
4. Who We Share Data With
Enquiry data submitted through our form is sent to and stored in our Google Workspace (Google Sheets), accessible only to authorised Ascendra team members. Where you have expressed interest in government apprenticeship or skill schemes, relevant details may be shared with our licensed corporate partners solely for the purpose of facilitating that programme. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity as described above; these providers process data under their own privacy policies as our data processors.
Cross-border data transfers. Google Analytics (Google LLC) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) may transfer and store data on servers located outside India, including in the United States. These transfers are governed by the data protection frameworks and standard contractual terms of the respective providers. By using our website and accepting analytics cookies, you acknowledge this transfer.
5. Data Storage and Retention
Enquiry data is stored securely within Google Workspace and retained for a maximum of 3 years from the date of submission, after which it is deleted unless a longer period is required by law or you have an ongoing relationship with us.
Report download registration data (name, email, organisation, role) is retained for a maximum of 2 years from the date of registration, used solely for publication readership records, and then deleted. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 7).
6. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act, 2023
As a data principal under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request erasure of your personal data, where it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected;
- Withdraw consent for communications or data processing at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before such withdrawal;
- Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity; and
- Lodge a grievance with us in the first instance, and thereafter with the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved.
To exercise any of these rights, email sujithkumarsivakumar@ascendrainstitute.in with the subject line "Data Rights Request". We aim to respond within 30 days.
7. Data Security
We rely on Google Workspace's enterprise-grade security controls (encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, audit logging) to protect the data we store. Access is limited to Ascendra team members who need it to respond to enquiries.
8. Communications Consent
By submitting the enquiry form and checking the consent box, you agree to be contacted by our team via phone, email, or WhatsApp regarding your enquiry. All outbound communications are carried out in compliance with TRAI's Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations (TCCCPR), 2018. You may withdraw this consent at any time by emailing us — we will stop further communications except where necessary to complete a request already in progress.
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for individuals who are at least 16 years of age (typically final-year/pre-final-year students and above). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 without verifiable parental/guardian consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Material changes will be highlighted on our website and communicated where required by law.
